Let's try this healthy South Indian breakfast recipe called "Godhuma Rava Upma" which is made with broken wheat and flavorful Indian spices and vegetables. This is a very popular recipe served in many parties and wedding ceremonies as a breakfast recipe with chutney.

WHEAT RAVA UPMA / GODHUMAI UPMA
INGREDIENTS:
Oil - 2 tbsp
Cloves - 2
Cardamom - 2
Cinnamon - 1 inch
Red chili - 1
Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
Bengal gram - 1/2 tsp
Black gram - 1/2 tsp
Chopped ginger - 1/2 tbsp
Chopped green chilies - 1/2 tbsp
Chopped carrot - 1/2 tbsp
Chopped beans - 1/2 tbsp
Curry leaves - few
Turmeric - 1/4 tsp
Ginger garlic paste - 1/2 tsp
Chopped onions - 1/4 cup
Water - 3 cups
Salt - 1 1/2 tsp
Garam masala - 1/4 tsp
Broken wheat - 1 cup
Lemon juice - 1/2 tsp
Coriander leaves - few
METHOD:
1. Heat 2 tbsp oil on medium flame. Add 2 cloves, 2 cardamoms, 1-inch cinnamon, 1 dry red chili, 1/2 tsp mustard seeds, 1/2 tsp bengal gram, 1/2 tsp black gram and saute them for a while.
2. Now add 1/2 tbsp chopped ginger, 1/2 tbsp chopped green chili slices, 1/2 tbsp chopped carrot, 1/2 tbsp chopped beans and saute them for a while. Now add few curry leaves, 1/4 tsp turmeric powder, 1/2 tsp ginger garlic paste and saute them for one minute.
3. Let's add 1/4 cup chopped onions and fry them for one minute. Let's add 3 cups water and boil it for 4 minutes on medium flame by closing the lid. Be aware of water boiling over. Reduce the flame if necessary.
4. Add one and a half tsp salt. Add 1/4 tsp garam masala, 1/2 tsp lemon juice to it. Let's add wheat rava slowly as shown in the video and let's cook it for 2 minutes on high flame. Let it cool and serve.
