Vaamu aaku bajji aka Ajwain patta ke pakoda is a perfect winter snack. Fresh carom leaves have a lot of medicinal values also. If you ate the leaves, it will beat the indigestion. INGREDIENTS
Oregano Leaves (Vaamu Aakulu) – 15 to 20
Besan Flour (Senagapindi) – 1 cup
Baking soda – ¼ tsp
Red chilli powder – 1 tsp

Salt to taste

PREPARATION
- Wash the leaves thoroughly to remove the dust.
- In a mixing bowl add all the ingredients one by one starting with besan flour.
- Add baking soda, red chilli powder, salt and mix well with a spoon or with your hands whichever is comfortable.
- Add little bit of water to this while mixing and make a thick batter. Mix thoroughly to avoid lumps. (The batter should neither be too thin nor too thick. Thin batter absorbs more oil. And thick batter will not be cooked properly)
- Heat oil in a pan.
- Dip the Oregano leaf in the batter as shown in the above video. (Whole surface of the leaf is covered with batter)
- Slowly drop these leaves into the heated oil and fry till golden brown.
