Guava pickle or Jamakaya uragaya is a traditional dish from the Indian cuisine. This classic recipe is prepared by fresh raw guava. This instant pickle is served with rice in parties and restaurants. In this video, we will show you how quickly we can make this instant pickle at your home.
GUAVA PICKLE / JAMAKAYA AVAKAI
INGREDIENTS:
Raw guava pieces (without seeds) - 1 cup
Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
Red chili powder - 3 tsp
Salt - 2 tsp
Fenugreek powder - 1/2 tsp
Mustard powder - 1 tsp
Tamarind paste - 3 tbsp
Lemon juice - 1 tsp
Oil - 3 tbsp
METHOD:
1. Chop the raw guava into 4 equal pieces. Remove the seeds part from each one. Chop the remaining in small pieces.
2. Take the guava pieces in a bowl. Add 1/2 tsp turmeric powder, 3 tsp red chili powder, 2 tsp salt, 1/2 tsp fenugreek powder, 1 tsp mustard powder, 3 tbsp tamarind paste, 1 tsp lemon juice, 3 tbsp oil and mix them well. Marinate it for one day. That's it your instant guava pickle for rice is ready to serve.
